The Arc of Cape May County welcomes Leslie Long, who joined our agency as the Executive Director December 3rd.
Leslie has an extensive history of working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She brings over 25 years of experience in human services to our agency, working with communities around the country, leading individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families into current and future services across residential, employment, and community living supports.
Early in Leslie’s career, she was employed as the Director of Project Hire at The Arc of New Jersey. This gives her a unique knowledge of The Arc’s philosophy and vision. She has also worked at the Division of Developmental Disabilities, Autism New Jersey, and the Northward Center for Autism. Prior to The Arc, Leslie was the Vice President of Adult Services at Autism Speaks.
The Arc of Cape May County, Inc. promotes and protects the human rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes. The Arc of Cape May County, Inc. is committed to enhancing the quality of life of those individuals and their families through direct services, advocacy, empowerment, education and prevention.
No magic formula or written protocol can provide the people we support with these smiles. Filling a home with care and comfort can bring peace and joy to a heart longing for recognition. Simply accepting and embracing each person for their individuality and uniqueness is the driving force of our services. Each relationship we are privileged to establish with an individual with I/DD allows us to encourage and promote their own choice for reaching their fullest human potential and their particular contribution to our world.
We are an approved and qualified provider for many programs in the new Fee for Service system. We are looking forward to working with our community to tailor services and supports to meet the need of individuals in this new system. PLEASE CALL US DIRECTLY AT 861-7100 to discuss options and opportunities as we transition into this new way of doing business for people with I/DD. DONATE NOW to further advance the belief that all people deserve dignity and choices about how they live, learn, work and play!
